Gemdale The One: A Testament to Subtle Luxury

Exploring the Unique Design Philosophy of Kot Ge - LSDCASA

Delving into the world of residential design, this article explores the award-winning project 'Gemdale The One', a creation of the renowned design team, Kot Ge - LSDCASA. The project is a testament to the team's unique design philosophy that prioritizes simplicity, functionality, and the essence of everyday living.

At the heart of LSDCASA's design philosophy is the desire to return to the most fundamental aspects of design. The team seeks to respond to the basic needs of living through ordinary life and quiet, simple impressions. This approach is not about adhering to a particular style or model, but rather, it is a methodology that evolves from the life we face every day. This philosophy is beautifully manifested in the design of 'Gemdale The One'.

What sets 'Gemdale The One' apart from other residential designs is the team's willingness to make subversive changes to the interior space of the building. The aim is to create smoother generatrices and a more reasonable allocation of space resources. The team also pursues the genuineness of materials and the release of functions, creating a space that is not just a place to display construction, but one that suppresses temptation and reduces distraction.

The design process involved a careful selection of colors and materials. The team strived to use natural materials and present them in their most genuine form. The overall color scheme is dominated by black and white, with a small amount of different color blended with grayscale. This approach to color and material selection reflects the team's commitment to truth and restraint.

The building itself is a six-storey villa, with three floors above ground and three below. The design team pioneered the use of the original plot level difference and raised the garden as a whole. This not only created a necessary sense of privacy but also formed a unique "double first store" setting, providing precious double-storey two-way landscape resources on the first store and the negative first store of the building.

The project, which started in August 2017 and was completed in December 2017, faced several design challenges. One of the main challenges was the original building's six-storey vertical step ladder, which was not conducive to the generatrices and increased discomfort of use. The team overcame this challenge by using a three-storey vertical step ladder and a three-storey spiral staircase, allowing for the conversion of generatrices between the living area and the social activity area.

The design of 'Gemdale The One' has been recognized for its creativity and innovation, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the remarkable level of excellence that Kot Ge - LSDCASA has achieved with this project.
